UPDATE!: Well, I got tired of this site getting shut down all the time and its lack of freedom and space. Thus I have moved my webpage. This one will still be here, but don't expect it to be updated. Check out the new site at: http://rainbow_brite01.tripod.com/allisonswonderland/
My brilliant friend Evan has created a webpage of extreme literary delight. PLEASE go check it out...very worth your time: http://www.nakedorange.com
Attention!: Although Andrew Octopus is no longer a DJ at WXYC~Cahpel Hill, their station still rocks...and who wants to sit in silence while they are on the net when they can hear a schizophrenic fantasia of music found at: http://www.wxyc.org
A little more about me: My name is Allison, I'm 19, (20 in 2 months! I can't believe it!) I am only 5'2" (on a good day), I chopped all my hair off in September and dyed it dark red-purple, (it used to be long and blonde) and my eyes change colors depending on what I'm wearing. I graduated on with the Hawken class of '99 and went to Elizabethtown College last year. I went there for their Occupational Therapy program, but I realized that wasn't what I wanted to do with my life. Now I am working full time and trying to save for a car, school, and rent while playing mommy and housekeeper. Let me tell you a life secret: Being a responsible adult sucks!
The most shocking thing (to me anyway) I've done in the past year? I got a tattoo on April 6th. A small purple magnolia flower on my right shoulder blade (ok, so its more towards my back). Why? I don't know. But its special to me, and so far, I don't regret it. And Tom, stop picking on me about how small it is!! (the new hair do was a shock to me too, but doesnt even come close to the tattoo)
As for my family, I am the oldest of 3 children: Joe is almost 16 and Jamie is 5 1/2(they're getting so old!!). My parents have been divorced for 10 years now. I have 16 aunts and uncles, and 18 cousins. (and one of them is having a kid this summer!!) All within 20 minutes of my home...there's no escape! I can barely keep them all straight.
Most people used to say that I am a quiet/shy person, but they are wrong. I'm not. Get to know me, you'll see. I don't hold things back either. I'd explode if I didn't tell you what I thought about things. And some people think I even lean towards the exhibitionist side ;-) But what's wrong with a little exhibitionism every now and then?
Some of my favorite things to do are: listen to music of nearly all kinds, going to movies (I prefer indie films over Hollywood), spending time in the parks, going on nature walks, sanity walks (thanks Grace), and lunatic walks (right Sarah?), watching sunrises/sunsets and people, going to parties, going to dance clubs, going on adventures of the unknown, coloring, drawing, and reading good books (but I dont have much time for that anymore) oh and at school it was going to "Country Mike's Rebel Jukebox" radio show every Friday where I had been given the name of "Ally Hate". Go figure.
Some of my favorite music groups/bands are: U2, REM, Pearl Jam, Creed, Ben Fold's Five, Counting Crows, Sarah McLachlan, Goo Goo Dolls, The La's, Suzanne Vega, Semisonic, Remy Zero, Indigo Girls, Jewel, Collective Soul, Guided by Voices, Regia, Live, Smashing Pumpkins, Ani DiFranco, The Clash, MXPX, and Mike Ness/Social Distortion (a few new faves, thanks Grace!) and many more I can't think of at the moment.
Now, I'd like to give my regards and love to some people...I guess this would be my "shout out" list. First and foremost, I'd like to dedicate this to my grandpa David Scott who passed away two and a half years ago. He was a true inspiration to me and I miss him so much every day. Then come my crazy hometown friends: Peacock, Lara, Evan, Johnny, Sammie J., Rachel, Lisa Jo, Avnee, Fluey, Marcus, Nick, Joe T., Lauren, Maddie, Kate, and tons others I can't think of at the moment (for those of you who have decided to stay in your college towns for the summer: you suck! you better come visit me!); Andrew, thank you for everything, it was great while it lasted; and all my buds from E-town especially Sarah S., Sarie, Lizzie, Trudie, Burd, Giffie, Saori, Aaron, Stacy, Mark, and Vitor. (i miss you all!) I must also say hey to my family or they will probably kill me. That's enough for now. If you aren't mentioned, maybe I missed you, or maybe I didn't. It's up to you to figure it out first, then tell me and I'll tell if you're right or wrong...oooohhhh...was that rude??? |
